Haman is entering his fourth season as head coach of the Lincoln University women’s basketball team. He was named the seventh coach in program history on July 20, 2004.
Haman has turned the Lincoln women’s basketball around in his three years. Lincoln has participated in postseason play in each of the last two years.
During the 2006-07 season, Haman guided the women’s basketball program to its finest season in school history. Lincoln won a school-record 19 games, including the first postseason championship in school history. The Lions won the Association of Division III Independents Northeast Region postseason tournament. Lincoln finished the regular season by winning 15 of its final 17 games.
Haman helped produce the first postseason appearance in program history. Lincoln finished third in the Association of Division III Independents tournament following the 2005-06 season.
Even though this was Haman’s first head coaching position at any level, he is no stranger to the bench or college basketball.
Prior to being named head coach at Lincoln, Haman served as an assistant coach at Lincoln, Cheyney and Delaware County Community College for over 20 years.
Haman was an assistant coach at Delaware County Community College from 1984 to 1986. While at DCCC, Haman was a member of the state championship 1984-85 team assistant coach.
After leaving DCCC, Haman became the top assistant coach at Lincoln from 1986 to 2000 before going to Cheyney for two years (2000-2002) before returning to Lincoln in 2002. Haman was an assistant coach from 2002 until his appointment as women’s basketball coach.
One of Haman’s duties was recruiting. He was outstanding in that role. Haman helped land Darrel Lewis, the all-time leading scorer in men’s basketball history with 2,294 points.
Another one of Haman’s major recruits was Tarron Richardson, the only male player in Lincoln history to score 1,000 points and grab 1,000 rebounds. Both Lewis and Richardson each have their jersey’s retired.
In between the recruiting, Haman is very active with several summer basketball leagues in Coatesville, West Chester and Downingtown coaching various teams and assisting the leagues in additional capacities.
Haman, who celebrates his birthday on May 23, is a member of the National Association of Basketball Coaches. Haman has a career record of 32-40 in three years as head coach.
