DURHAM, N.C. – Lincoln's
Brion Robinson (Silver Spring, MD/Springbrook HS) was named to the 2015 All-CIAA Football Defensive Preseason Team, while the Lions football team was predicted to finish sixth overall in the CIAA Northern Division announced on Thursday, July 23 during the annual football media day.
Brion Robinson (Silver Spring, MD/Springbrook HS) was named to his second consecutive All-CIAA Football Preseason Team heading into his final year in the orange and blue. Last season, Robinson led the Lions defense in tackles recording 74 stops, three interceptions, and two forced fumbles. He ranked second overall in the CIAA with 65 solo tackles and seventh in total tackles.
The 2015 Lions begin the season with back-to-back road games starting with rival Cheyney on Sept. 5. The Lions won the last two meetings against the Wolves including a thrilling 30-18 win on national television in 2014. Lincoln looks to avenge a crushing shutout home loss in their next game to North Carolina Wesleyan on Sept. 12. On Sept. 19 Lincoln will host Alderson Broaddus at the Lincoln University Stadium for their Hall of Fame game in the season home opener.
The Lions enter CIAA play on Sept. 26 with a night home game under the lights against Shaw. Their next game is on the road against Fayetteville State on Oct. 3 wrapping up their cross divisional match-ups. CIAA Northern Division play begins on Homecoming 2015 against Virginia Union on Oct. 10. A week later, Lincoln travels to Elizabeth City State for the Vi-kings Homecoming before hosting the defending CIAA Champions Virginia State on Oct. 24. Their next contest is against CIAA rival Bowie State on the road a week later and then recognizing their senior class in their season finale against Chowan on Nov. 7.
