HAMPTON, Va.  — Lincoln University linebacker Daron Jones (Baltimore, Md./Cardinal Gibbons HS) and quarterback Doug Cook (Dania Beach, FL/University School of Nova SE University) garnered CIAA weekly football honors on Monday.
 
Jones, a native of Baltimore, Md., was selected the CIAA Linebacker of the Week after his career performance against Elizabeth City State on Saturday. The 5-foot-10 linebacker registered 19 tackles, including 11 solo tackles in the loss. He also recorded one sack.
 
Cook, a native of Dania Beach, Fla., finished off his freshman season by earning CIAA Rookie of the Week honors. He was 21-of-42 passing against the Vikings for 232 yards and a pair of touchdowns. His 49-yard touchdown pass to Matthew Coston (Queens, N.Y./Dover HS) put Lincoln on the board.
