Football season opener against Cheyney to be played in Philadelphia
LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, PA. (May 28, 2009) – The Lincoln University of Pennsylvania 2009 season-opening football game against Cheyney University will be played as the Wade Wilson Classic at Northeast High School’s Charlie Martin Stadium in Philadelphia on Saturday August 29, 2009 beginning at 4:00 p.m.
This will be the first meeting between the two schools since Lincoln’s 72-13 victory in 1946. Lincoln leads the all-time series, 8-1-1.
In 2008, Cheyney posted a 0-11 record while Lincoln finished with a 1-9 mark, in its first season in 48 years.
